Meet our leadership
Kevin is our fearless leader here at Journey! As our CEO — Kevin was the original owner of what was then TLC Payroll (#throwback) with partner Sue Shirley. When not working on company development and new ideas, Kevin can be found spending his time with his wife Christine and their two sons. They mix their California roots with their Colorado heart and life, when traveling in the mountains or traveling to their favorite beaches!
Kevin can be found at his favorite restaurants or by the pool with family and friends, and his favorite way to give back to our community is by supporting non-profits through special events and the #JourneyTogether movement. Pittsburgh Steelers! If you’re a Steelers fan, you’re alright in Kevin’s book! He’s a big sports fan, so he also loves his San Jose Sharks and Oakland A’s as well. Although Kevin and his family don’t ski or snowboard, they do spent many long weekends in their favorite mountain town, Breckenridge, Colorado. Anytime they can find a combination of warmth and beaches, they’re happy. As we can all attest, Kevin loves his coffee and water! When he cuts loose at team building parties, he does enjoy a vodka soda as well.
New York Business Development
Matt DeSantis grew up in East Meadow NY and attended Farmingdale State University, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. He applied his love for business and people and entered the payroll industry. Matt built an impressive sales career at a national payroll company, including finishing as the #1 sales rep in the entire organization in 2019; but he always wanted to be an owner himself. After ten years of service to the company, Matt took the entrepreneurial leap of faith, leaving the stability of Corporate America behind and starting Journey Payroll & HR – NY in 2020. Being able to work closely with his clients and really hand-hold them without the corporate pressure to always be moving on to the next account has Matt in the happiest work environment he’s ever had. His clients are even happier as they get the extra attention they yearn for and deserve!
Matt leverages his people skills to manage business development for Journey – NY and loves networking with fellow business owners. He has been a proud member of BNI NYC since 2015 and heads the business sphere for them. When he is not out meeting clients and networking partners, you can find him living his best life with his Fiancé Tori, his dog Harper, Family and Friends! Matt enjoys playing tennis, watching sports, investing, and the water!
Joey is a new father, enjoying his free time with wife Jessica and baby girl Jocelyn. Serving as Football Manager from 1999-2004, Joey continues to show his love for the U of A through donations to Arizona Athletics and the Wildcat Club.
Although he originally intended to become a doctor, the payroll industry soon came knocking. A national payroll company recruited Joey to start a new market, which he successfully built over 16 years. Starting in sales, Joey’s effervescent personality and unmatched understanding of the payroll process earned him the role of Sales Director. In addition to his work at Journey, Joey is active in the community as well. He is a member of the Arizona Sands Club Membership Committee, Board of Directors of Felicias Farms and a Member of the Arizona Eller College Alumni Advisory Council.
